About Karen
Karen Koros leads Impact World Community as Director, setting the strategic direction of a youth-led Kenyan PBO that mobilises children and young people around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She oversees governance, institutional partnerships and the long-term growth of the organisation's flagship programme, the SDG Impact Club.
Her work centres on turning global development language into something young people can act on in their own schools, campuses and neighbourhoods — through dialogue forums, campaigns, mentorship and youth-led community projects. Under her direction, IWC has grown its footprint across high schools and universities in Kenya while building relationships with government agencies, corporates and international partners.
Karen is known for a practical, partnership-first leadership style: she pairs young organisers with institutions that can resource them, insists on transparent stewardship of funds, and keeps every programme measured against real community outcomes rather than activity counts.
